Working with Prisoners

The prison environment adds a significant challenge for men who have been sexually assaulted or raped either before their imprisonment or whilst in prison. With the co-operation of the prison authorities, we can help.

We have established a relationship with the staff at Norwich prison such that prisoners affected by sexual and/or physical abuse may use the services of a dedicated phone line. By arrangement with the authorities, authorised prisoners are permitted to call us at specified times.

We have, in the past, undertaken face-to-face counselling within the local prisons but, we regret that due to insufficient volunteer counsellors, we are currently not able to extend this service to new inmates.

If you are working within the prison service either with a statutory or voluntary agency and would like to discuss how we can help, please get in touch with us either by email or call our helpline.
